Frequently Asked Questions

What does a neurologist do?

A neurologist specializes in diagnosing and treating nervous system disorders, including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. They address conditions such as migraines, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathies. Neurologists use diagnostic tools like MRIs, CT scans, and EEGs to evaluate neurological health and develop individualized treatment plans.

When should I see a neurologist?

You should consider seeing a neurologist if you experience symptoms such as persistent headaches, seizures, dizziness, numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness. A neurologist can also help if you have a family history of neurological conditions or if you're dealing with chronic or unexplained neurological symptoms.

What should I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, the neurologist will review your medical history and discuss any symptoms you're experiencing. You may undergo neurological exams and diagnostic tests such as MRIs or EEGs to assess your condition. Based on the results, the neurologist will recommend a tailored treatment plan to address your specific needs.

How can I maintain good neurological health?

To maintain good neurological health, engage in regular physical and mental exercise, eat a balanced diet rich in nutrients, manage stress, and avoid harmful habits like smoking. Regular check-ups with your neurologist can help monitor your neurological health and address any emerging issues promptly.
